Barker Collins turns up the heat at Offshore Europe

Precision sub-contractor Barker Collins reports that orders valued at up to £1 million are likely to be generated by its attendance at the Offshore Europe exhibition in Aberdeen. Managing director Chris Carter says a tremendous amount of interest was generated by the company’s ‘excellence through innovation’ policy that sees components produced in lead times that are often half those of industry rivals. “Our non-stop networking with both existing and potential customers at the event has generated an impressive enquiry pipeline,” he comments. Visitors to the Barker Collins stand discovered how the Sheffield-based company is capitalising on its recent £5.5 million investment in CNC machining technology by providing oil and gas components such as whipstocks, stabilisers, cans and reamers for drilling, pipeline tooling, pumps and valves, and seabed fastening systems. These complement its work in industry sectors such as power generation, earth moving, nuclear, defence, transport, minerals and mining, as well as excavation and construction.
